The trade rumors involving Phoenix Suns' guard Eric Bledsoe continue to become closer to reality. According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Suns are now looking for a deal that involved disgruntled guard Eric Bledsoe and is also willing to add center Tyson Chandler in the mix.
The Philadelphia 76ers is also reportedly looking for a deal for big man Jahlil Okafor.
Phoenix Suns not in a rush to trade Bledsoe
The Phoenix Suns are struggling early in the 2017-2018 NBA regular season, the Suns are currently ranked 13th in the Western Conference with a record of 2-4.
Guard Eric Bledsoe tweeted out his frustrations in his current situation with the team. The tweet put Phoenix Suns' General Manager Ryan McDonough in a tough position that is now looking for a deal that involved the unsatisfied guard.
Eric Bledsoe was drafted 18th overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2010 NBA draft out of the University of Kentucky. Bledsoe has played for two NBA franchises, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Phoenix Suns. During the past NBA season, Eric Bledsoe averaged 21.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game for the Suns.
Bledsoe is out indefinitely this season due to some disciplinary issues imposed by the team.
Philadelphia 76ers to trade Jahlil Okafor
During the past NBA season, the Philadelphia 76ers has unloaded one of their big men Nerlens Noel to the Dallas Mavericks and is looking to do the same thing early in this season. The 76ers have a very crowded frontcourt with Amir Johnson, Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid, and Dario Saric all looking to have a significant playing time.
So far this season, Okafor is behind both Johnson and Embiid for the center position while Saric and Ben Simmons have been getting most of the playing time for the power forward position.
Okafor has only played in one game early in this year's NBA regular season where he produced a near double-double of ten points and nine rebounds while blocking four shots.
In the past NBA season, Okafor played in 50 games while starting 33 of them due to Embiid's season-ending injury and averaged 11.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.4 steals, and 1.0 block per game. Jahlil Okafor was drafted third overall by the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2015 NBA draft out of Duke University.
Both Eric Bledsoe and Jahlil Okafor have been having a decreased playing time due to crowded lineups from each of their teams. But if both players find a new home that is willing to give them a chance to play, they are surely capable of producing in some way or another if put in the perfect situation.
