NBA.com has reported that the Denver Nuggets has once again defeated the Los Angeles Lakers last October 4 (GMT-4) with the score 122-104. The Denver Nuggets have shown amazing basketball so far, with them going 3-0 in this years preseason games, beating the Warriors and the Lakers twice. As for the Lakers, they now go 0-3, but all is not lost for Lakers fans as their rookies are showing real talent and potential.
Kuzma looking like a scoring machine
Kyle Kuzma once again had an incredible game tonight on the offensive end. He contributed 21 points, two rebounds, and two steals.
He shot the ball at an amazing rate of 77.8 percent from the field and made seven of his nine free throw attempts. NBA fans had their eyes on Lonzo Ball going into the preseason, but Kyle Kuzma is now getting some of the attention with how well he has been playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Weber and Hart gets playing time as Lonzo rests
Lonzo Ball sprained his ankle in their last game against Denver and the Lakers decided to play it safe. WIth Lonzo out, Briante Weber and Josh Hart saw increased playing time against the Denver Nuggets. Weber played 21 minutes contributing five points, three rebounds, and five assists. He made two of his five field goal attempts and only made one of his three free throw shots.
Josh Hart played 19 minutes and was able to record nine points, four rebounds, one assist, and two steals. Hart shot the ball pretty well going four out of seven from the field with 57.1 percent.
Jamal Murray looking like Curry
Jamal Murray showed last season how good he is in shooting the three ball and that is what he showcased in the win against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jamal Murray contributed 20 points, one rebound, two assists, and three steals. He shot the ball at a very high rate at 85.7 percent making six of his seven shots and making five of his six three-point attempts. If Murray can actually shoot the three at a high rate with consistency, the Denver Nuggets are looking very scary this upcoming season.
With Millsap and Jokic out, Faried steps up
The past few games, it has been Gary Harris, Nikola Jokic, and Paul Millsap who led the team in scoring for Denver. But with the three of them resting Kenneth Faried took initiative and dominated the paint. Faried made 10 of his 12 field goal attempts and contributed a game high of 22 points. Along with the points, he also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out one assist, and had one huge rejection. WIth the strong west and the emerging Denver Nuggets, the upcoming NBA season is surely going to be a fun one.
