The quarterback carousel for the Cleveland Browns continues as the team has made another change at quarterback only a week after naming a new starter. Meanwhile, the indianapolis colts got bad news regarding the status of star quarterback Andrew Luck as he suffered a setback in rehab. Finally, the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions signed quarterbacks.

Browns name starting quarterback

Today the Cleveland Browns announced that rookie Deshone Kizer would be the team's starting quarterback, one-week after benching him for second-year player Kevin Hogan. It seemed like Kizer may have made his last start at quarterback for the team barring injury, but that all changed very quickly.

Head coach Hue Jackson said he wanted Kizer to watch the game from the sidelines to get a different perspective on it. How much this contributed to the change and how much of it was due to Hogan's awful play last week in the team's blowout loss to the Texans will likely not be known.

When asked if Kizer would be the starter for the rest of the year Jackson said, “I'm not gonna say the rest of the season but he's the guy right now.”

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Hogan will be the third-string quarterback this week and Cody Kessler will serve as the backup. However, Hogan has bruised ribs and the Jackson said “It wasn't because of performance” in regards to the change.

Status update on Andrew Luck

Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard said that Andrew Luck was experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired right shoulder and had to take a cortisone shot. He will now stop throwing as part of his rehab in practice this week. Luck had surgery to repair his shoulder in January and the Colts have struggled in his absence this season, sitting in last place in their division.

Packers and Lions add quarterbacks

In the wake of Aaron Rodgers' broken collarbone, the Green Bay Packers have signed a quarterback. They added Jerod Evans to their practice squad to fill Joe Callahan's spot, as he was called up to the active roster. Evans is an undrafted rookie out of Virgina Tech.

Meanwhile, their division rivals also made a move at quarterback, claiming Brad Kaaya off of the Carolina Panthers practice squad. The Detroit Lions drafted the University of Miami product in the sixth round of this year's draft. Detroit cut him as part of final roster cuts after Jake Rudock won the backup job and they opted to only keep two quarterbacks.
