World No. 8 Grigor Dimitrov is set to play at next week's Erste Bank Open 500. Dimitrov, 26, was handed a wildcard entry by the Vienna organizers. The Bulgarian has no previous appearances in Vienna.

Dimitrov will be going up against some tough competition in Vienna. Fan-favorite Austrian Dominic Thiem and rising German Alexander Zverev were confirmed for the event earlier.

Last year's Vienna runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and former top-10 player Tomas Berdych are also expected to play at the event.

Dimitrov will be hoping to land another ATP title next week. The 26-year-old has captured three titles so far this year. The Bulgarian won it all in Brisbane, Sofia, and the Cincinnati Masters. He is currently in Stockholm, where he is preparing for his round-of-16 clash. It remains to be seen can Dimitrov overcome a tough Vienna field and make it all the way at the Austrian event.

Buenos Aires secures Cilic's services

World No. 4 Marin Cilic has signed up for the 2018 Argentina Open.

The 29-year-old is set to make his debut on the clay of Buenos Aires. Landing the 2014 US Open champion was certainly a big job done by the Buenos Aires organizers.

The Argentina Open comes at a tricky time. The Buenos Aires event takes place in February. The Argentinean event is being held on a clay surface. Most players prefer to skip clay-court tournaments before the clay season officially kicks off in April. The players tend to play hard-court events in February as their preparation the Indian Wells Masters and Miami Masters -- which are held on hard in March. Cilic himself prefers faster surfaces as it suits better his game-style.

Cilic has won 17 ATP titles so far in his career. Two of those 17 came on clay -- 2009 Umag and 2017 Istanbul.

It remains to be seen can Cilic make some noise in Buenos Aires next year.

Kyrgios set to play in Stuttgart

Rising Nick Kyrgios has been confirmed for the 2018 Mercedes Cup. The 22-year-old Australian is ready to play for the first time on the grass of Stuttgart. It is a win-win situation for both sides. Kyrgios simply enjoys playing on grass as it is his most favorable surface. On the other side, having Kyrgios on the board will only help the Stuttgart organizers in their attempt to create a strong player field.

Kyrgios has yet to win an ATP title on grass. The Australian had a disastrous campaign on grass this season. He was forced to retire his first round matches at Queen's and Wimbledon due to a hip injury. The then 19-year-old Kyrgios most famously stunned Nadal at Wimbledon 2014. Kyrgios will certainly be eyeing to win his maiden title on grass in Stuttgart next year
