No American made it to the top 24 players who were to receive the best male player award.

There was only one American woman out of ten best women players in the best female player category. Lieke garnered 21.72 percent of the votes cast. She was competing against ten other women. Carli Lloyd who plays for Houston Dash and Manchester City came second with 16.28 percent. Real Madrid's Zinedine Zidane received the award for best men's coach while Netherlands' Sarina Wiegman, won the honor for the best women coach.

Olivier Giroud of Arsenal received "The Puskas Award" for the most impressive goal kick in 2017 for his 'scorpion kick' when Arsenal was playing against Crystal Palace in January.

Oliver received 36.17 percent of the votes cast while competing against ten other players.

Supporters of the Celtic Club were awarded the fan award for honoring the club's 1967 'Lisbon Lions' by presenting a 360-degree card display during the 50th anniversary of their memorable European Cup win.

They garnered 55.92 percent of the votes cast.

He is a father of three and is expecting a fourth child with girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.
