The Uefa Champions League has once again taken the center stage in world football as Gameweek 2 kicked off on Tuesday 26th September 2017.
The Group stages are getting tougher as the weeks go by. Gameweek 2 - day 2 fixtures and analysis are shown below
Qarabağ vs Roma
Qarabag lost their first game against Chelsea FC by 6 goals and now they host the Italian giants, Roma in the first ever UCL fixture in Azerbaijan.
Roma, on the other hand, drew their first game of the campaign when they played against Athletico Madrid last week. Roma have played nine UCL away games without a single win.
We predict that the Italian giant would celebrate their first win out of 10 away games in the Champions League with a win at Azerbaijan.
Juventus vs Olympiacos
Juventus started the 2017 Champions league campaign with a 3-0 loss to Barcelona at Camp Nou. The Old Lady are somewhat clear favourites to win this game fater they picked up their pieces during the weekend with a smashing 4 - 0 victory over Torino on Saturday. Juventus has a record against Olympiacos in UCL when they ran out 7-0 winners in December 2003.
Olympiacos also lost on the opening day after slipping by 3 goals to 2 against Sporting Gijon. They have lost seven of their 11 matches against Serie A teams in Italy and we don't see them doing any harm to the Italian champions tonight.
Sporting CP vs Barcelona
Sporting ran away with a hard fought 3-2 win over Olympiacos in their group opener game on gameweek 1. They are unbeaten this season in all competitions but we don't see them taking anything from this match.
Barcelona have won their last seven matches since the start of the Spanish La-liga, their last losing came in the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid in August.
They started their UCL campaign with a rather comfortable win against Juventus. Sporting don't seem to be a threat to this Ernesto Valverde's side.
Paris Saint Germain vs Bayern Munich
PSG began their quest for the Champions League trophy with an emphatic 5-0 win over Celtic on game week 1.
Bayern on the other hand have been very poor in their German Bundesliga this season but struggled to win their first game in UCL this season against Anderlecht by 3 - 0.
This is a tight call, we think PSG would be victorious against Bayern today!
Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea
Atletico Madrid are unbeaten this season, they have kept clean sheets in four of their last five games. Diego Simeone's side are known for defending till the last. Can Chelsea break this strong defense to get something out of this game?
Chelsea on the other side of the coin have scored at least four goals in three of their last four matches in all competitions, including their 6-0 win at home over Qarabag FK on gameweek 1.
Chelsea and Athletico have drawn their last two head to head games. A draw here won't be a bad result for both teams.
