The quarter final gave us a match between Nadal and Rublev. Nadal easily defeated the young Russian and went on to play and beat Juan Martin Del Potro in the semi final. Nadal showed the entire world why he is the world's number one and one of the best players to ever step on the tennis court.

Another Grand Slam title for the Spaniard in his amazing career

This was Rafael Nadal's 23rd Grand Slam Final and his 16th victory. Most of his wins are from the French Open, where he has won 10 titles. He won the Australian Open in 2009 and won Wimbledon in 2008 and 2010. This was his fourth US Open Final and his third victory. He won the title in 2009 and 2013, both times beating Novak Djokovic in the final. He is now a step closer to Roger Federer's record of 19 Grand Slam titles and will finish the year as the world's number 1. We hope Rafa will be around for a long time because the world of tennis just isn't the same without him.
