On paper, Manchester City has the best team to triumph over rivals to walk away with the english premier league title. The team will start as favorites when the 2017-2018 league begins, but despite that, it’s going to be a tough season for the Pep Guardiola lead squad.
There’s going to be a huge tussle for the top four positions, and Manchester City will be right there in the hottest part of the battle.
Pep Guardiola has made a lot of changes to the squad as the team hopes to stay ahead of rivals going forward. Now, having the best team on paper doesn’t guarantee victory, and this is something Manchester City knows all too well.
For many seasons, Manchester United had the best team on paper but failed to capitalize on its advantage. However, for the 2017-2018 season, Pep Guardiola is hoping to turn City’s fortunes around as he aims for the top trophy in England. It won’t be easy, but at least Manchester City can feel solace in the fact that it has the best possible chance to get there.
Manchester United
Last season, Manchester United placed 6th in the league standings. Quite a surprise considering the team played well throughout the season but failed to capitalize on goal scoring opportunities. Jose Mourinho who is the manager at the club is looking to change things as he made several quality signings in less than a month.
Jose Mourinho is dubbed the special one because he has won a major league title with every team he has managed. So far, this has yet to happen with Manchester United. Nothing is ever easy in England, something Mourinho has come to learn first hand.
Nonetheless, with the new players now at the club, things could change for the better.
Chelsea Football Club
In the 206-2017 season, Chelsea stepped up to the challenge and took home the league title. It was a tough season for the Blues, but with Diego Costa, Willian, and Hazard up front, the Antonio Conte led team pulled through.
However, things have changed quite a lot since then. Costa is no longer a member of the team, and the ever reliable Matic has left for Manchester United.
To replace Costa, Chelsea signed Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid. The player has yet to prove himself fit for English football, but these are early days.
Since pre-season began, Chelsea has won a single match and lost two games. Not a good showing for the current champions who are seeking a consecutive hold on the trophy.
Overall, these clubs are the top three that could potentially win the English Premier League title next year. The seas will be rough, but each manager must steer their respective ships to calmer waters.
