The Philadelphia Sixers has been the laughing stock of the NBA for the past four seasons. They have finished near if not the bottom of the team standings.

Their tanking is proving to be a success in their rebuilding process. Drafting high caliber young players like Dario Saric, Joel Embiid, and number one picks Ben Simmons (2016) and Markelle Fultz (2017). Philadelphia's future seemed to be very bright as they continue to develop their young guns and they are poised to get back in contention.

Sixers' curse

The Philadelphia Sixers have been pretty unfortunate the last few season.

The organization has been plagued with injuries, causing their former top picks Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor to miss most if not all of their rookie seasons.

The Sixers' first unfortunate event last season happened during the 2016 NBA Summer League, Ben Simmons injured his foot and was ruled out for the remainder of the 2016-2017 Nba Season after missing the first 56 games.

Despite the injury, The Philadelphia Sixers had a good start, with Joel Embiid playing his first season in the NBA for the first time in three years. But the hype was short lived after Embiid suffered a knee injury on January 20 in the 2016-2017 NBA season against the Portland Trailblazers.

The Philadelphia Sixers had a 28-54 record in the past season wherein they finished 14th in the NBA Eastern Conference.

'Trust the Process'

Philadelphia Sixers' slogan is causing a buzz in the NBA. With the arrival of Markelle Fultz, and a young core that includes Centers Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor, and Forwards Dario Saric and Ben Simmons. If this team remains to be healthy, this could be the year that the city of Philadelphia is waiting for.

Jahlil Okafor has been working hard this offseason to improve his overall game and get into top shape despite some trade rumors. After suffering multiple injuries during his first two seasons in the NBA, Okafor is healthy and ready to produce a strong 2017-2018 NBA season.

Philadelphia traded away Nerlens Noel to the Dallas Mavericks last season.

But the Sixers still has a very crowded front court, and Okafor will surely still be competing for his spot.

With a strong young core and loyal fan base, the Philadelphia Sixers look to not just produce a good season but contend in the Eastern Conference. And if they remain to be healthy, this team will be a scary one in the future.
