Preseason game preview

The Kansas Chiefs have gone 1-1 so far in this NFL preseason with a 30-12 win at Cincinnati and a 27-17 loss at home against San Francisco.

Rookie quarterback Patrick Mahomes looked solid in his appearance against the Bengals, throwing for two touchdown passes. In that game, the Chiefs scored on their first five possessions and jumped to a 30-9 lead in the third quarter. Fellow rookie Kareem Hunt also was on display in the win over the Bengals as he had eight carries for 40 yards and three catches for 23 yards in the game. Both players may be on display some more tonight as well as the returning Eric Berry and Chris Jones.

The Seattle Seahawks have looked good so far in the preseason, going 2-0 over their games. That included a rout of the Chargers and a 20-13 win at home against the Minnesota Vikings. While Russell Wilson threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns in just the first half, the team also was hit by a season-ending injury for left tackle George Fant.

He reportedly suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during the second quarter. It was noted that this injury overshadowed a solid victory by Seattle which included Mike Davis and Kasen Williams hauling in touchdown catches. Tonight Seattle looks to make it 3-0 with a national television audience.

Heading into tonight's matchup, the Seahawks are three-point favorites on the spread.

The Chiefs come in as +142 on the moneyline with the home team at -165. The over/under points for tonight's game was at 44 points as of this report.
