Braun Strowman fought Roman Reigns at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view last weekend but the match ended in controversy. Strowman won fair and square in the Ambulance Match but Roman was a sore loser and locked Braun in the ambulance before crashing it into another truck. That took Strowman out of action and Roman Reigns demanded a WWE Universal title shot against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam in August.

According to new WWE rumors, that won't happen in the manner that Roman Reigns hoped for.

The current WWE storyline

Roman Reigns came out on Monday Night Raw and stood face-to-face with Brock Lesnar and demanded a title shot at SummerSlam.

Brock laughed him off and said he didn't deserve one - which is true since he lost at Great Balls of Fire. That brought out Samoa Joe, who lost to Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire.

Samoa Joe said that Brock Lesnar didn't beat him - he just survived - and he wanted another title shot. Paul Heyman said he would never get another title shot and Joe basically called Brock a coward who was hiding behind Heyman. The most interesting thing about this was that Brock laughed at Roman Reigns but seemed very serious when facing Samoa Joe.

That cause WWE Monday Night Raw general manager Kurt Angle to make a match for the show next week. Samoa Joe will fight Roman Reigns and the winner is the new No. 1 contender to Brock Lesnar and the WWE Universal Championship.

This made no sense because both of those men lost at Great Balls of Fire yet were rewarded with this opportunity.

The actual SummerSlam match

According to Sportskeeda, the actual SummerSlam main event will not be a one-on-one match. Instead, the site reports that the main event will be a four-way match for the title with Brock Lesnar defending the belt against Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman.

There is really only one way to set up this amazing match. On WWE Monday Night Raw next week, Reigns and Joe can't have their match come to a legitimate conclusion. If Braun Strowman is added to the match, he will probably come in and attack - causing the match to end in a no-contest.

This makes the most sense. Unlike Roman and the big Samoan, Braun Strowman won his match at Great Balls of Fire - and he beat Reigns.

This means that Strowman legitimately deserves a title shot more than either of the other men. The WWE has made Strowman look like an unstoppable monster - he walked away from the ambulance crash on his own.

Then, if the WWE wanted to, they could have Roman Reigns finally beat Braun Strowman in the four-way match at SummerSlam and save Brock Lesnar from taking the pin to lose the title. That could also allow the WWE to hold off on the Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns singles match until WrestleMania 34 but put their title on a full-time star who is on Raw every week.
