NBA trade rumors are surfing around the New York Knicks as they are looking for a starting point guard. It turns out that the Knicks have reached out to the Phoenix Suns to Strike A Deal for Eric Bledsoe. Apparently, the Knick have asked about Bledsoe and his availability. Getting hold of Eric Bledsoe would make sense for the Knicks has they might need a starting point guard at this moment.

According to the New York Post, it is not an easy task for the Knicks to get Bledsoe given their current situation. The team has a limited cap space, and they might not have the means to strike a deal with the Phoenix Suns.

While they are still light on appealing trade chips, Steve Mills the acting president believes that he could get hold of a veteran point guard through trade.

Will the Pheonix Suns trade Eric Bledsoe?

Whether the Pheonix Suns are willing to trade Eric is a secondary question. The fact is that the Knicks have around $15 million left in their cap space. They have chances to use this for a free-agent point guard, but they might need something that will give them an extra leap. The Knicks have the option to use the veteran's minimum exception. In that case, they would have around $2.3 million for players that are serving 10 seasons.

On the other hand, the Pheonix Suns will be ready to give away Eric Bledsoe only if they get something good in return from the New York Knicks.

The 27-year-old point guard has $29 million and two years left on his contract with the Phoenix Suns.

The Knicks are also trying for Donald Sloan

With the present situation on the team, they do not have enough money for Rajon Rondo and Derrick Rose. The Knicks have also been reportedly researching for point guard Donald Sloan.

With the NBA free agency, they are trying to get the right point guard, and Sloan has been shooting 38 percent from the three-point area.

Donald Sloan has played last season in China. The 23-year-old point guard might be their best option as he is capable of handling the ball very well. While they are still in search for their point guard, the have bigger plans to develop on their young superstars.

The Knicks have some great players like Frank Ntilikina, Kristaps Porzingis, Willy Hernangomez, and Tim Hardaway Jr. These players are considered as the young core stars for the team.

Reports state that the Knicks still believe they could get their point guard via trade options. If things go well with the Pheonix Suns, they might just land Eric Bledsoe on the team.
