On Friday night, a busy WNBA schedule will feature three games as six teams battle on the hardwood. Among those games is an Eastern Conference showdown involving the Washington Mystics against the Indiana Fever. With the Connecticut Sun's loss to the L.A. Sparks a night ago, it gives Washington a chance to move ahead of the Sun for the top spot in the East standings. Here's a look at the latest WNBA game preview including matchup odds, as well as how to watch tonight's Mystics vs. Fever game live streaming online or on available television channels.
Game preview
The Washington Mystics come into tonight's road game with a record of 10-8 overall and just 3-6 away from home. However, they're led by former WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne who averaged nearly 20 points per game on a 47.8 percent field goal shooting rate. The recently-named WNBA All-Star starter will have the help of talented teammates K Thomas who leads with 7.4 rebounds per contest, and K Tolliver who averages 2.8 assists a game. Washington is currently suffering from a three-game losing streak, with a 96-92 loss at Connecticut the most recent defeat.
The same is true for the Indiana Fever, who have lost their last three games including a defeat at the hands of the San Antonio Stars 79-72.
The Stars had just one win on the season entering the game. In addition, Indiana has lost their last three home games which could not bode well for the team as they cling to hopes of securing one of the eight playoff spots in the WNBA standings. Candice Dupree leads the team in points (14.8) and rebounds (5.9), while Briana January averages 3.5 assists per game.
The latest point spread has the visiting Mystics as 6.5-point favorites to win. On the money line, Washington is a -280 favorite, while the Fever are +240 home underdogs. The over/under points total is 164.5 or 165 points for the game at various books, as of this report. The Mystics own a 6-4 head-to-head record in the two teams' meetings, with the last game an 88-70 Mystics' rout at home back in June.
