Premier League club Arsenal is close to agreeing on a club record transfer fee with Olympique Lyon to sign Alexandre Lacazette. Elsewhere, the representative of Liverpool FC target Kasper Dolberg has admitted his client would find it difficult to turn down a possible move to AS Roma, while Italian champions Juventus have identified Arsenal target Thomas Lemar as an alternative to Bayern Munich's Douglas Costa. Here's a complete rundown of the latest transfer updates Making The Rounds:
Arsenal step up chase for Lacazette
Arsenal has made Lacazette their number one summer window target and is said to have made a breakthrough in talks with Lyon.
The French club president Jean-Michel Aules previously revealed it would be unlikely the French striker would leave the club this summer, but an improved offer from the Gunners looks to have apparently reversed the situation.
According to Metro, the Gunners have also been heavily linked with moves for AS Monaco duo Thomas Lemar and Kylian Mbappe, with the north London club preparing for the possible departure of their top striker Alexis Sanchez.
Any deal for Alexandre Lacazette is likely to “eclipse” the $55.3m transfer fee the north London club paid in September 2013 Spanish giants Real Madrid for Mesut.
Kasper Dolberg is unlikely to rule out potential move to Roma
The 19-year-old was in a superb form for Ajax last season as he helped the Dutch club reach the finals of the UEFA Europa League, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hailing the Dane as “brilliant." Despite the Dutch club's reluctance to sell Dolberg, Serie A side AS Roma have reportedly pressed forward with their advances and claims have emerged that the Italian club lodged a $17million bid, according to Football Italia.
Dolberg's representative, Jens Steffensen, has now added further fuel to the fire by conceding that the Italian giants would “appeal” to his client. Steffensen told reporters: “No doubt Serie A is one of the best leagues in the world and my client would at least find it very hard to say no to such a big team like AS Roma.”
Juventus enters chase for Thomas Lemar
Juventus have been in close talks with the German champions Bayern Munich over Douglas Costa and are keen to take the Brazilian winger to Turin this summer window.
However, talks between the both parties have apparently stalled, and the two clubs are struggling much to reach an agreement over a fee, with Juventus now considering alternatives.
According to Eye Football, Juventus will now make a move for AS Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar if they eventually fail to reach an agreement with Bayern Munich over Douglas Costa.
Thomas Lemar is also a prime target for Arsenal and the French champions Monaco have already declined an offer from Arsenal as they're keen to hold on the French striker.
It is suggested that the Gunners could end their pursuit of Lemar if they succeed in convincing their top striker Alexis Sanchez to stay at the Emirates next term.
