The latest WWE rumors suggest that despite a lengthy hiatus from the wrestling ring, one former Wwe Divas Champion could be making her comeback soon. That would be none other than WWE "Raw" women's division member, Paige, who has been out for months now due to suspensions and health issues. There's also been the issue of the leaked nude images and sex video, as well as her boyfriend, former WWE star Alberto Del Rio, who made disparaging comments about WWE. Here's the latest on Paige and her potential return to the company.
Paige's return to 'Raw'
A report on Tuesday from Ringside News indicates that Paige is "close to a WWE return." She posted on her Twitter that she was getting more X-rays of her neck today and posted "Comeback Last X-rays." as the caption with a music video of her choice. An official date has not been set, but if the X-ray results come back with good information, WWE will probably clear her to return to action soon.
Paige, real name Saraya-Jade Bevis, is a former two-time WWE Divas Champion and was drafted to the WWE "Raw" roster during the 2016 WWE Draft last July. Early in August, her mother tweeted that Paige was dealing with neck issues that would keep her out of the ring.
In addition, back-to-back Wellness Policy suspensions for drug test issues also kept her out of any prominent storylines on the show.
Paige was still featured on episodes of "Total Divas" which showed some of what happened backstage during her troubling times. She has not been seen in any capacity with WWE "Raw" since last summer.
Other issues?
There had been wild speculation about Paige's status with WWE following two Wellness Policy suspensions, a leaked sex video with other wrestling stars, and her boyfriend making drunken rants on social media accounts in which he bashed Paige's employer WWE.
Alberto Del Rio, who now works with TNA Impact Wrestling as Alberto El Patron, previously worked with WWE at the same time Paige was on the roster.
Back in August of 2016, Del Rio, real name Ricardo Rodriguez, received his first-ever 30-day Wellness Policy violation. Almost two weeks later, it was reported that he had opted out of his contract with WWE citing that he was unhappy with his position within the company.
Eventually, WWE came to terms with his release, but the aftermath has been messy.
When explicit photos and sex videos of Paige were stolen and leaked online, Rodriguez went on several drunken rants in which he made remarks about WWE. In one or more of the videos he even seemed to accuse Triple H and WWE of being involved in the leak somehow.
Nonetheless, Paige is still officially signed with WWE and the reason they may be keeping her around is due to The Rock's biopic which will be focused on her story. Most likely, WWE will be having Paige around in order to help promote the biopic so it will gain some traction and success. Once it does, it's quite possible they'll find a way to part ways with the former Divas Champion due to all the animosity coming from her boyfriend, their former worker.
