Legendary rapper and hip-hop artist, Snoop Dogg is coming to the UFC. While the musician whose career spans more than 25-years will not be fighting inside the octagon, he will serve as a commentator on a new weekly series called 'Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series'.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., will join soon to be UFC Hall of Famer, Urijah Faber on the broadcast team. The duo will serve as a secondary team, an option that viewers on UFC Fight Pass can choose to listen to while they watch the action.

The viewer will have the option to toggle between both broadcasts in real time.

The bonus audio feature will be called "SnoopCast". The show will feature fights in the Ultimate Fighter gym in Las Vegas but according to previously released statements, the gym will be empty minus the film crew and UFC President Dana White, and matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard. Top fighters from around the country will compete to seek a spot on the UFC roster.

“I’m a big fan of UFC and looking forward to joining the team," Snoop Dogg said.

As stated by the man himself, Snoop Dogg has long been a fan of the sport of mixed martial arts, and can often be seen at live events. He has released several videos on YouTube where he provides commentary work for the fights and or interviews fighters.

The new Tuesday Night Contender Series will begin on Tuesday, July 11, an is available only on UFC Fight Pass, a paid digital subscription service offered by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The first show will be headlined by top fighters on smaller regional promotions, Kurt Holobaugh vs. Matt Bessette. Holobaugh is a champion in Titan Fighting Championships, while Bessette holds a title in CES MMA, a promotion in the northeastern part of the U.S.

Hall of Fame Team

Snoop Dogg was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016, the night before WrestleMania 32. His broadcast team partner will be inducted to his hall on Sunday, July 9.

“I can’t wait to call fights with the Cali legend Snoop Dogg," Faber said.

The UFC has not yet announced who the main commentators will be for the show, but the announcement is expected to be released in coming days.

Snoop Dogg has been nominated for 17 Grammy awards but has never had the honor of winning. He has sold over 23 million albums in the United States and more than 35 million worldwide. As an actor, Snoop Dogg has appeared in numerous television episodes and films.
