The Cavaliers have hopes of bringing another all-star, and there could be a reunion in Minnesota. A three-point shooter could get a larger offer, while a recently traded starter wasn't a fan of what a hall of famer had to say. The rumor mill was spinning on Monday.
George or Anthony on Cleveland's radar
According to reports, Cleveland is still pursuing Paul George. The Pacers all-star told Indiana weeks ago that he would leave Indiana at the end of the 2017-2018 season. He told the team that the Lakers are his preferred destination, so the Pacers are trying to find a suitable trade partner.
The Nuggets were reported to be a potential trade partner. The Pacers would receive young players and draft picks, the Cavaliers would receive George, and Denver would receive Kevin Love.
If George doesn't pan out, Cleveland will be the leading contender for Carmelo Anthony should he secure an offseason buyout. A trade for Anthony does not seem likely as of now. Anthony has a no-trade clause, and his value has decreased after the president, Phil Jackson, has been public about his desire to trade Anthony.
D'Angelo Russell not a fan of Magic Johnson's criticism
Johnson didn't believe that Russell made his teammates better. He didn't believe he was a real leader, and he went public with those statements.
When Russell was asked, he said it was "irrelevant." The trade of Russell to the Nets was a great trade for the Lakers, but how many 21-year olds are proven leaders at the NBA level? Russell had his run-ins with maturity, especially with the drama with Nick Young and his then fiancee. However, Johnson's criticism was not entirely unjust.
Rose could go to Minnesota
Rose prefers to stay in New York, but Jason Evans of Fansided reported that Rose could be a good fit with the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves are coming off a draft day in which the team traded Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, and the No. 7 overall pick (Lauri Markkanen) to the Bulls for Jimmy Butler and the No.
16 overall pick (Justin Patton).
The Timberwolves have Ricky Rubio as their point guard, but there have been talks of trading him. Rose was an MVP under coach Tom Thibodeau. If the Timberwolves can sign Rose, it would give him a chance to revive his career, and play with the likes of Butler, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Andrew Wiggins. Some could say it could lead to chemistry issues since Butler and Rose were linked to locker room problems back in Chicago, but that was also happening post-Thibodeau era.
Nets and 76ers will make run for Redick
It is unclear who is going to stay with the Clippers, and who is not. Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and Redick are free agents, while DeAndre Jordan is on the trading block. Redick could cash in on a serious offer from the Nets, or 76ers per reports.
