The only series that is going on in the Eastern Conference at this point has been interesting to watch. The Celtics and wizards have been trading blows with each other for most of the series, giving the fans the playoff basketball they were praying for.
These two teams have utter disdain for each other, and it has shown throughout this playoff series. With the series tied a two games apiece, game five is set to be a pivotal game for both teams.
Game five will most likely be the most hostile game so far, so don't expect a little pushing and shoving.
In games like this, it's the stars that need to step up to get their team that 3-2 lead.
Star time
The stars for the Wizards have produced up to this point in the series; John Wall has averaged 28 points, 12 assist, and three steals per game in this series. Wall has found the perfect balance of getting his teammates involved and making sure he is finding his shot.
Wall will need to be a little more selfish in game five if he wants to get this win and the 3-2 lead. John Wall is the Wizards first scoring option, and he needs to start the game hot to force a double team which can get his teammates in better scoring positions.
Bradley Beal will also need to benefit from John Wall's great passing this game.
He is great in catch and shoot scenarios, and he will be called upon to take on the scoring load when Wall receives a double team. The bench of the Wizards will be critical when these stars go out and need to be able to perform.
Big time Thomas
The Celtics don't have the abundance of stars on their team like their counterpart.
Isaiah Thomas is their only proven star, and he will need to have a great game once again to carry the Celtics. Thomas has been struggling in the last two games, failing to reach 20 points in both games. He will need to find his groove tonight, as their season could be in danger if they fall in Wednesday's game.
Thomas has been the most consistent scorer for Boston, but that doesn't mean other players can step up.
Al Horford has been off and on the whole series, but he needs to be ready to score tonight. The Celtics will need Thomas to play big this game, and they will need help from the other potential scoring options as well.
This game five will put the winner one game closer to a date with the Cavs in the Eastern Conference finals. Both teams will be ready for a battle, as these teams came to far to have their season fall because of one bad game.
The stars of both teams will need to make sure the have their shoes tied tight because this game will be a physical game. This series has been the most competitive series in the playoffs to date, and we can expect a great game five on TNT at 8 p.m.
