With a record of 49-33 on the season, Washington captured home-court advantage for the first-round as the No. 4 seed. The Hawks finished at 43-39. The Wizards will look to longtime star guard John Wall who achieved career highs in points (23.1 ppg), assists (10.7 apg), and steals (2.1 spg) for the latest season. The guard put together a brilliant season that was overshadowed by the battle out West between Harden and Westbrook for the NBA MVP award.

The Atlanta Hawks went 4-1 over their last five games to close out the season including a blowout win over Charlotte to clinch the fifth seed. That stretch included back-to-back wins over the reigning NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers. In the more recent of them on Sunday, April 9th, Atlanta came back from being down double-digits in the fourth to tie the game, send it to overtime and then win by a point.

The Hawks also defeated the No. 2 seed Boston Celtics back on April 6th, showing that this close matchup between No. 4 and No. 5 seeds could be one to watch.

The Washington Wizards were five-point favorites on the spread as of this report and a -220 favorite on the moneyline. The underdog Hawks were listed at +190 on the moneyline with the over/under points total at 209 for the game. The Hawks have gone 18-11 against the spread this past season as the underdogs and are 20-21 ATS on the road, while Washington is 21-23-2 ATS as favorite or 17-22-2 at home.
