The Los Angeles Lakers got defeated by the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday at Target Center. The Timberwolves earned a double-digit win over the visitors from Los Angeles 119-104. Minnesota has avenged themselves for their recent loss suffered to the Lakers on March 24th at Staples Center. The T'Wolves now have two wins and a loss on the season against the Lakers. The two teams are set to square off for one more time this season -- on April 4th in Southern California.
Jordan Clarkson led the scoring for L.A.
Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson had a game high for his team against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Filipino scored 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field overall while hitting 4-of-8 of his three-point attempts. He was close to achieving a double-double as he had seven assists on the night in 40 minutes of action.
Starting power forward Julius Randle had a notable performance as well, scoring 12 points to go with 13 rebounds. Tarik Black, who started the game off the bench, had a great outing in 23 minutes spent on the floor. The center collected 15 points on an excellent 7-of-8 shooting, grabbed nine rebounds and had two blocks. Four more Laker players finished the game in double-digit scoring -- D'Angelo Russell scored 14 points, Tyler Ennis and Thomas Robinson both had 12 points, while Corey Brewer contributed to his team with 11 points.
The Lakers remain ranked last in the Western Conference
The Los Angeles Lakers have fallen to a 21-54 record on the season after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Lakers have the worst overall record in the Western Conference and Pacific Division. They also remain the second-worst team in the whole NBA -- behind the Brooklyn Nets (16-59).
Next up the city rivals
The Los Angeles Lakers will be facing their city rivals Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. The Clippers have been listed as hosts for the game which is set to be held at Staples Center. It will be their third encounter of the regular season -- the Clippers have a 2-1 lead over the Lakers. The Lakers lost to the Clippers by a 29-point margin while just recently on March 21st. It remains to be seen can the Lakers shock their city rivals on Saturday and tie the season series at 2-2.
