When the WWE brought Finn Balor up from NXT to the main roster in the brand split draft in 2016, they made him an instant star. He beat Roman Reigns in the ring in a clean win. He then beat Seth Rollins at "SummerSlam" in a clean match as well. However, the new WWE champion had to give up his Universal Championship because he tore his labrum against Rollins.
Now, Balor is returning to the WWE from his injury. He actually made an in-ring appearance at the Wwe Nxt tapings on Wednesday night and said he is coming back to take what is his.
Finn Balor's rise to the top
Finn Balor has wrestled for many years. He became a huge star on both the indie scene as well as in New Japan as Prince Devitt. The WWE took notice and signed him. He immediately took over as the main star on NXT, winning the championship there and setting the record for the longest title reign for that brand. He also captured fan's attention by painting his body and turning into a "demon" when he wrestled in big matches. Sadly, it was the biggest match of his career that saw him sustain the worst injury of his career.
Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins
The Finn Balor injury came against Seth Rollins at "SummerSlam." The match was for the first ever WWE Universal Championship and the WWE decided to use it to make Balor a star.
The injury took place outside of the ring when Rollins tossed Finn into the ringside barricade and the labrum tore. It was bad luck for the man who would win the title moments later but he never whined about it and just rehabbed his way back to the WWE.
Finn Balor and 'WrestleMania'
Just because Finn made his return at the NXT tapings does not really mean he will return for a "Wrestlemania" match.
However, those rumors come from "The Wrestling Observer" newsletter and they are usually accurate on things like this.
The look of the return might make one wonder if Balor will wrestle at "NXT TakeOver: Orlando" two nights before "WrestleMania" against Andrade "Cien" Almas, someone he attacked while saving Kassius Ohno. If he returns for "WrestleMania," there is little time to build the match so he might show up in a multi-man WWE match as a surprise entrant and his demon entrance could put him back on top with the fans once again.
If Finn Balor returns for "WrestleMania," who would you want him to face?
