The Nebraska Football team is coming off a successful 2017 National Signing day but the coaching staff isn't resting on its collective laurels. Now that the 2017 class is inked and ready to come to Lincoln, it's time to turn the program's attention to the next class. It also appears that some of the 2018 class are looking at the Huskers, as well as other schools, and might be getting ready to make some kind of an announcement. It doesn't appear as if the Cornhuskers are going to get a commitment but they could be getting closer.

Nebraska on the short list

2018 defensive back prospect Brendan Radley-Hiles has long had the Nebraska football team as one of his top teams. Now it appears he's going to be making some kind of announcement. The question that has to be asked is just what the announcement might be. This tease all came thanks to a tweet from the Bradenton native, who certainly seems to understand how to get his fans going. The tweet said nothing more than "uh oh coming soon ... " The tweet is even more of a tease because it's well know that the defensive back isn't committing to the Nebraska football team or anyone else until this summer.

Nebraska still has competition

While the Huskers are looking like the leader, there are plenty of big-time schools going after Radley-Hiles.

Florida and Notre Dame are two right at the top of the list, though it's thought NU is leading the pack for now. The reason -- beyond the fact that there is basically an entire year until Radley-Hiles can commit -- he isn't giving his services to anyone is because he's picked a sentimental commitment date. The Nebraska football recruit has said he's going to be announcing his school choice in July.

The defensive back could be looking to pair down the list of schools he's currently willing to consider. It also seems as though it might be a bit early for a top list, but he could be looking to narrow it down so he can get to a commit by July. For now, we're just going to have to wait and see what might be coming soon.
