The WWE "Royal Rumble" 2017 results will be arriving a week from today, and will include matches that will shape the road to "WrestleMania 33." Among them is the fan favorite match which features 30 superstars battling to toss each other out of the ring until one superstar remains. The winner of that match goes on to headline "WrestleMania" in a championship bout. With both the WWE Universal Championship and WWE World Heavyweight Championship also on the line during the pay-per-view, it could set up some interesting scenarios for the "Monday Night Raw" and "SmackDown Live" rosters.

Here's a look at some of the latest "Royal Rumble" 2017 rumors, match entrants, other matches, and PPV predictions.

Rumble match entrants so far

More than half of the 30-man field for the elimination-style match has been set as of this report. Among the "Royal Rumble" entrants will be Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, Randy Orton, Luke Harper, Bray Wyatt, Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin, Cesaro, Sheamus, Chris Jericho, The Miz, and The Undertaker.

Of those names listed, The Undertaker has been the odds-on favorite to win the match for weeks now. However, Braun Strowman and Randy Orton are two other entrants with strong odds. For the longest time, Goldberg was the favorite, until Undertaker entered the mix.

However, there's still that outside chance Goldberg could win, unless Brock Lesnar takes him out, as the rumors suggest.

Surprise superstars in the match?

The fun part of the "Royal Rumble" is when surprise stars enter the match. Since there are about 12 spots left open that has led to rumors about who else will appear during the big 30-man match.

James Ellsworth has been campaigning for a spot via social media and could be among those to join in.

There have been rumors of former NXT Champion Samoa Joe getting into the match, which seem like a strong possibility. Joe has even been listed amongst top four favorites to win the match and then headline "WrestleMania." Finn Balor is also rumored to finally return to the ring for the match and could be a favorite to win.

A few other pro Wrestling stars to consider are Triple H and Kurt Angle. Triple H hasn't really been involved in WWE programming for a while but could get involved to cost Seth Rollins the win and set up a match at "WrestleMania." Kurt Angle was recently announced as a 2017 WWE Hall of Fame member. It wouldn't be a stretch it WWE found a way to set up one more match for the legendary star now that he's back.

No matter who shows up at this year's "Royal Rumble" pay-per-view, it's certainly exciting to think of all the possibilities and eventually find out what WWE may have in store for "WrestleMania 33."

Other matches & predictions

In addition to the 30-man match, AJ Styles defends his WWE World Heavyweight title against John Cena.

Also, Kevin Owens puts the WWE Universal Championship on the line against Roman Reigns. Chris Jericho will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage.

Right now, it seems like the prediction to go with is that Reigns is going to leave the pay-per-view with the title. He recently dropped the US Championship to Chris Jericho. It's believed some sort of match will be set up involving Owens and Jericho after this. As for Reigns, that could depend on the "Royal Rumble" winner.

AJ Styles could retain the championship, but the rumors suggest he'll probably lose it at the "Elimination Chamber" pay-per-view, which "SmackDown" has coming up next. WWE star John Cena is the likely champion heading to "WrestleMania 33." Also, expect to see Charlotte continue her unbeaten streak at pay-per-views in her title match against Bayley.

As for the "Royal Rumble" winner, a bold prediction is probably in order. Either Samoa Joe or Finn Balor will win this year's big match and get a headlining spot to help them push the newest generation of WWE stars.
