The reason for the parting was said to be some contract issues with the makers of the show. The show got a nod for renewal for three more seasons recently. But now there is good news as Meloni will be making a return to the show. He is expected to lead a crime unit. After coming out of the show, the actor appeared in many shows including an HBO series.
