In the latest unfolding of the Hollywood scandal, long-time actor Morgan Freeman has now been accused by eight women of sexual misconduct. These women, who worked with Freeman during the filming of several of his movies, have stated that Freeman displayed a pattern of disrespectful and unprofessional behavior which included vulgar, sexual comments and inappropriate touching.

Freeman is the latest of many public figures accused

We have seen an incredible amount of women coming forward to accuse well-known actors, directors, and other stars of mistreating and harassing them.

Freeman is the latest man to have these types of allegations leveled against him. The problems these women faced with him were not isolated incidents - one went so far as to say that the staff working on the set of Freeman’s hit film “Now You See Me” were careful not to wear any revealing or form-fitted clothing on set, lest they be subjected to harassment from the actor. This included, but was not limited to, inappropriate touching and comments.

According to BBC News, a woman claimed that he attempted to lift her skirt, going on to ask her if she "was wearing underwear." Another woman says that he made vulgar comments to her regarding her pregnancy. Multiple reports from victims and witnesses have come in stating that he constantly made comments about women's bodies, and would stare at them in such a way that they were made uneasy.

These were not uncommon occurrences for those he worked with, though the women claimed that it always came as a shock, as Freeman has long been regarded as a respected public figure.

Freeman also worked with Revelations Entertainment for a time, where many people (including the co-founder, Lori McCreary), were said to have been on the receiving end of inappropriate comments and actions from the star.

The names of the women who came forward have not been revealed.

Freeman has publicly apologized

NBC reported that he issued a statement, saying, “Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend of knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent.”

At this point in time, though Freeman has apologized, he has not denied any of the accusations made against him, nor has he refuted the claim that he was asked to desist from his behavior by a costar, Alan Arkin, who witnessed such incidents unfolding. But those standing by have commented that he was seemingly surprised by Arkin's comment.
