Deadliest Warrior” was a series that once aired on a network called Spike TV. The premise of the series was that two warriors or groups of warriors were matched against one another with the outcome determined by a computer system. In the earlier seasons, the antagonists were generic, say a Viking against a Samurai. Later seasons would involve historical figures, say George Washington against Napoleon, each leading a small group of soldiers from their time periods and nations. The combat was preceded by analysis and some trash talking between various experts.

The last episode of the final season pitted vampires against zombies, a sure sign that the series was running out of gas. “Deadliest Warrior” was cancelled soon after

However, it seems that with the revival of high fantasy, “Deadliest Warrior” could be revived, pitting characters from various stories against one another.

Jamie from ‘Game of Thrones’ vs. Aragorn from ‘Lord of the Rings’

This matchup would be a straight sword against sword contest between two of the best fighters from their particular universes. Who would win would be anyone’s guess, but the repartee might be amusing if Aragorn finds out about Jamie’s sexual habits.

Gandalf from ‘Lord of the Rings’ vs. Dumbledore from ‘Harry Potter’

Which gray-bearded robed magic slinger would prevail? Gandalf would have one advantage in that he also knows how to use a sword, so Dumbledore would be well advised to keep his opponent at a distance.

Tyrion from ‘Game of Thrones’ vs. Frodo from ‘Lord of the Rings’

Two problems may exist with this fight. Tyrion is not a natural fighter and Frodo is. However, the Hand of the Queen can talk with great eloquence and the two contestants might just leave off trying to kill one another and go drinking at the local pub, a happy outcome to be sure.

Arya from ‘Game of Thrones’ vs. Hermione from ‘Harry Potter'

Hermione is no slouch with a wand, but Arya has a newfound ability that makes her opponent never know she’s coming. Poor Hermione may think one moment that her friend Harry or that big goof Ron is coming to greet her and the next moment find herself on the ground being perforated by a smiling psychopath.

Orcs from ‘Lord of the Rings’ vs. White Walkers from ‘Game of Thrones’

Orcs are big, strong, and pretty dumb, while White Walkers are mindless and hard to put down. However, unless the Orcs are equipped with dragon glass weapons, the contest has to go to the snow zombies.
