Reality star Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett of “Kendra” and “Kendra On Top,” seems to be confirming her impending split from husband and former American football wide receiver Hank Baskett, in a recent video. The fairy-tale romance that started in 2008, had hit troubled waters after news of Hank's alleged affair with transgender model Ava Sabrina London surfaced in 2014. The fact that Kendra was eight months pregnant at the time of the affair did not help matters.
Kendra's really rocky life
The scandal had derailed the marriage for a while, but they have since been able to move past the hurdle and get their marriage back on track.
Now, Kendra has posted videos on social media hinting that all might not be well with the Basketts, People reports. “Ten years, I did everything I could. It wasn’t good enough. I will always love him and my heart will always remain open for him. I believed in forever, I really did. Guess it’s just not meant to be. I’m so scared, but I have to get strong for my kids. I will,” she says in the videos posted on her Instagram story.
Tough childhood and relationship with mother
Kendra has been through her share of troubles in life, and not just from her mother who threatened to reveal the details of her family woes including details of Hank’s affair in a tell-all book.
The estranged duo had come together on "Marriage Boot Camp: Reality stars," where it appeared for a while that mother and daughter had been successful in putting their past difficulties behind them, but news of the book further strained their relationship and Kendra was (understandably) livid.
The former glamour model had revealed that she had been through multiple stints of severe depression and suicide attempts. She had seen some tough teenage years when she fought multiple demons including drugs and what her therapist calls a lack of “safety and protection” at home, even ending up in a mental institution for a time, Dailymail reported.
She then found comfort, fame, and love, marrying Hank Baskett in 2009 and becoming a mother of two while starring in various shows.
She had her first break on “The Girls Next Door,” a reality show on E!, about life in Hugh Hefner’s mansion as one of Hugh’s girlfriends. She has since been a regular face on multiple reality shows.
Here’s hoping that she gets past this difficult time in her life and finds happiness. The Instagram photos of her and her son in snowboarding gear on a mountain posted after her divorce-hinting story show she may be already well on her way.
