“The Young and the Restless” spoilers tease that someone familiar is about to return to Genoa City to shake things up, but a new actor is stepping into the role. Michael Mealor will be playing Kyle Abbott, Jack's son, and fans will definitely be anxious to know more about this actor.

The new Kyle will shake things up in Genoa City

A number of actors have played Kyle Abbott over the years, and Lachlan Buchanan was the most recent one in the role. Buchanan portrayed Kyle in 2015, but “Young and Restless” writers didn't seem to know quite what to do with him.

Abbott had been in a relationship with Summer Newman for a while, but he headed off to New York to work and his relationship soon ended.

“Y&R” spoilers hint that the new Kyle heading back to Genoa City will be quite different from what viewers last saw. Jack was stunned earlier this week to learn that Kyle has seemingly been conspiring with Victor Newman. As the week continues, “Young and Restless” spoilers detail that Jack will try to reach out to his son, and soon Kyle will be shaking things up as he returns to town.

Mealor's 'Y&R' gig is a big change for his career

Michael Mealor may look familiar to “Young and Restless” viewers, as he has appeared in a number of other shows. The actor's IMDb page notes that he had roles in “Roadies,” “Fall Into Me,” “Supergirl,” and “Chasing Life.” However, this seems to be his first big, ongoing role.

Mealor is originally from New Orleans, Lousiana, and he has been dating a gal named Britt Johnson for a little more than a year.

He seems to be close friends with Whitney Fransway, who was one of the contestants on Nick Viall's season of “The Bachelor,” and his recent tweets indicate that he loves his new “Young and Restless” gig so far.

The new 'Y&R' actor is loving his new job

Michael has tweeted about how the scripts he's working with are so good he didn't want them to end.

Another recent tweet notes that you know you love your job when you're disappointed your day ended early, and he's tweeted that he's grateful to be on the show, saying that the “Y&R” family is the best family.
