He became famous singing about love and now Ed Sheeran has found it for himself. The “Perfect” hitmaker has announced that he is Engaged to his teenage crush, Cherry Seaborn.

The 26-year-old posted an adorable picture to Instagram to let fans in on the secret, revealing that he popped the question in late 2017. With his arms wrapped around Cherry and kissing her nose, Ed confirmed that they are both happy, in love and celebrating with their pet cats.

The couple actually met in high school but didn’t start dating until 2015. In past interviews, Ed has talked about the crush he had on Cherry while students at Thomas Mills High School in Suffolk, England, but didn’t make his move until long after he had made a name for himself as the prince of romance.

Ed has never shied away from talking about his relationship with Cherry. In 2017 he told PEOPLE magazine that after harboring a childhood crush he reconnected with the pretty brunette while he was on tour in New York City and she was working on Wall Street. Over a series of text messages, the friendship quickly turned into something more and eventually she moved back to their native England to be closer to the singer.

Their relationship went to the next level in 2016. It was a quiet year for Ed’s fans while he took a break from music to focus on the new relationship as the loved-up pair traveled the world together before moving in together in London and adopting kittens to raise.

Now, they have a wedding to plan.

While brides and grooms around the world have swooned over Ed’s “Thinking Out Loud” lyrics during their own first dance as husband and wife, it’s exciting to think about what song Ed and Cherry might play to celebrate his own nuptials.

But the tracklist won’t be the only exciting part of the special day.

With famous friends from Beyoncé to Jamie Foxx, BFF Taylor Swift and a slew of Victoria Secret Angels, the who’s who of A-List stars are bound to all be on the guest list and the dance floor.

While Ed and Taylor have always insisted that they have only ever been platonic, he did tell Rolling Stone magazine in 2017 that he indulged his young and single life by “waking up” next to many of her famous friends before settling down and finding happiness with Cherry.

No details of dates have been released yet but hopefully, fans can start to get excited about the songs Ed will write because he is now living his own happily ever after fairytale. Will he write his own wedding song? Will #Beyoncé sing while they walk down the aisle? Only time will tell!
