Sasha Pieterse and Gleb Savchenko were the latest couples to be eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars" after its "Disney Night" episode on Monday. The actress and her dance partner impressed the judges with a rumba set to "Kiss the Girl" by Samuel E. Wright from "The Little Mermaid" soundtrack.
The "Pretty Little Liars" star transformed into a real-life Ariel with a red wig and a teal gown, while the Russian pro played as Prince Eric for the live performance. Carrie Ann Inaba was particularly mesmerized by their performance and commended the actress for her confidence during the production.
"It's so nice to see you this way," the judge commented. "I love the way your body interprets these dances."
'DWTS' celebrates 'Disney Night' for its fifth week
The pair earned a score of 24 out of 30 points for the dance routine, placing sixth with Maks Chmerkovskiy and Vanessa Lachey. When asked about her "Disney Night" performance, Sasha Pieterse has nothing but satisfaction for the outcome she never expected.
The magical night of the "Dancing With The Stars" ballroom then turned into a tension-filled studio when the program announced the elimination of another dance couple. Unfortunately, Sasha Pieterse and Gleb Savchenko fell short and were sent home after the latest episode.
'DTWS' couple react to elimination results
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the 21-year-old actress frankly admitted that she was shocked to be eliminated during the fifth week of the dance competition. "I'm not mad, I'm just really bummed. I really wanted to be here," she explained.
She added, "It sucks, but I made some amazing friends, I had such a good time, and I feel like I'm just grateful."
Sasha Pieterse specifically thanked her dance partner who became her close friend while working together for the dance program.
She even joked about ordering Gleb Savchenko to teach her fiance, Hudson Sheaffer, how to dance.
The "Dancing with the Stars" pro, on the other hand, share the same sentiment about the elimination and confessed that he was hoping to stay longer on the dance program. "But it's a dance competition, someone's gotta go and unfortunately it's us," he said.
Gleb Savchenko also praised his celebrity partner for showing a huge improvement since the new season opened last month. Meanwhile. "Dancing with the Stars" is now down to its nine dance couples fighting for the Mirror Ball trophy.
