“Riverdale” is one of the most popular TV shows in the US. The first season of “Riverdale” was pretty intense. The show primarily revolved around the Jason Blossom mystery. The small town of Riverdale was seemingly sucked in by who the murderer of Jason Blossom was. The journey came to an end with the discovery of the murderer. Show-writers, Greg Berlanti, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa very cleverly ended the plot. According to a report by Den of Geek, the show is now going to return in the form of a second season. Its release date is slated to be October 11.

The show will reprise its standard slot on The CW. The Season Premiere episode is titled, “Chapter Fourteen: A Kiss Before Dying.” “Riverdale” Season 2’s official synopsis has also been published online.

What’s in the synopsis?

The synopsis starts off by stating that Fred is still disturbed by the events that took place at Pop’s diner. The shooting of Jason Blossom has left him shaken. There is not much one can do about his state. Archie is in the same boat as him. He was also among the key witnesses of the incident. At the same time, Veronica is trying to console Archie by being by his side. Her feelings for him are only drawing the two closer. In a time where their love story is somewhat blossoming, Hiram (Veronica’s father) ends up in town.

The couple has to face confrontation from the side of Hiram. Meanwhile, Pop Tate is going to make a guest appearance. He along with Jughead and Betty will show up in bits and pieces in the entire sequence. Betty’s old-time ex-boyfriend also shows up somewhere along the way.

According to a report by TV Line, Chic Cooper – who is Betty’s long-lost brother on the show – is going to return to “Riverdale.” Actor, Ross Butler once played Reggie Mantle's character.

The next season will see Charles Melton replace Ross in the show. Numerous reports suggest that Ross Butler signed up for “13 Reasons Why” season 2 instead. He was too busy to give dates to any of these shows. Thus, they had to replace him. Apart from him, Casey Cott has been hired to play the role of Kevin Keller. He will take up much of the screen time as compared to “Riverdale” season 1.

The story-line of the upcoming season hasn’t been revealed yet. But on the basis of the official trailers of “Riverdale” season 2, the show seems to come packed with a mysterious surprise. Fans will discover more about it as and when time unfolds.
