“Iron Fist” fans have some great news as it was confirmed back at The Defenders Panel at SDCC in July that “Iron Fist” was going to get a second season. At the event, it was also revealed that show-runner, Scott Buck was being replaced by Raven Metzner of the “Sleepy Hollow” fame. A report by Den Of Geek quoted Head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb as saying that Raven loves “Iron Fist.” He further added that his knowledge about martial arts and film-making makes him the perfect choice to continue the legacy of the show. Loeb doesn’t doubt the fact that Raven will do a wonderful job at narrating the tale of Danny Rand and Colleen Wing in “Iron Fist” Season 2.

The sudden change doesn’t come across as highly surprising. Metzner was severely criticized for his work in “Iron Fist” season 1. The producers of the show had since then, been on a look-out for a replacement. Since they thought that Raven fit the bill, they went for the opportunity immediately.

Finn Jones speaks up

It is rumored that the second season will pick up from where the last one ended. Actor Finn Jones told Den of Geek that the first installment did not really tell Danny Rand’s origin story completely. Therefore, it is being assumed that the main protagonist’s origin journey will probably continue to be spoken about in the second season. The conclusion of “The Defenders” might also be showcased in the upcoming series.

Jones further went on to state that he hopes that Danny gets a makeover of sorts. He hinted that Danny might finally be able to wear the “classic yellow mask,” in the next season. Jones further went on to emphasize how the show-runners aren’t afraid of experimenting with newer costumes. He thinks that the actors feel “more authentic” when newer costumers are explored.

When is it releasing?

There are a lot of TV shows that are expected to launch this year. The list includes, “Luke Cage” season 2, “Jessica Jones” season 2, “Daredevil” season 3 and others. It doesn’t appear that season 2 will see the light of the day until 2019 at least. There hasn’t been any confirmation regarding the matter yet.

Finn Jones has apparently begun training for his role in “Iron Fist” season 2 already. They are expected to begin filming quite soon. It is speculated that the fate of many characters will be decided in the upcoming season. A number of new characters might also be seen in season 2. Fans will also see the spectacular fighting sequence.
