It has been a while since Warner Bros. released updates on the sequel to the film adaptation of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” The new updates revealed that the second installment of the franchise has brought in new actors to portray new characters.
Fans of the “Harry Potter” franchise have been waiting for news on the sequel, and though there are no hints on what exactly the story will be about, the studio has graciously revealed some familiar names that will be returning to the screen.
Sequel introduces Nicolas Flamel
One of the great things about the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” film franchise is that it brings certain characters to life.
These characters were usually mentioned in the “Harry Potter” series as legends or authors.
It was just announced that Mexican actor Brontis Jodorowsky has just signed up to portray the role of Nicolas Flamel. The name surely rings a bell especially to the fans who have read all the novels.
Flamel was a famous alchemist who got his name out in the open after creating the Philosopher’s Stone, which was the central point of the first novel by J.K. Rowling. Aside from that, he was close to Albus Dumbledore, who will be portrayed by Jude Law in the sequel of “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.”
Jessica Williams joins the cast
The most recent addition to the cast of the untitled sequel is American actress Jessica R.
Williams. She starred in the 2017 Netflix movie titled “The Incredible Jessica James,” but she is more well-known for being a huge fan of the “Harry Potter” series.
Williams has grown close to the author of the novels, J. K. Rowling after reaching out to her through social media a couple of years ago. Warner Bros. hasn’t revealed Williams’ role yet, but the actress is simply happy that she’s part of the cast.
More new characters
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” made Newt Scamander, who is portrayed by Eddie Redmayne, the main character of the franchise since he was the one who wrote the books about the beasts. The upcoming sequel will be introducing new characters including Newt’s brother Theseus, who will be played by actor Callum Turner.
Another new character from Newt’s past will be appearing in the form of Leta Lestrange, who will be portrayed by actress Zoe Kravitz. Aside from the new roles, familiar names such as Torquil Travers and Rosier will be back in the sequel.
Travers and Rosier will eventually become Death Eaters, and they will be portrayed by actors Derek Riddell and Poppy Corby-Tuech, respectively. Other actors who have been added to the cast of the “Fantastic Beasts” sequel are Cornell S. John as Arnold Guzman, Wolf Roth as Spielman, Victoria Yeates as Bunty, and Fiona Glascott.
