George RR Martin previously teased the possible release date of the much-awaited “The Winds Of Winter” novel in August. The veteran author launched his most recent work in 2011, and he is yet to complete the sixth and penultimate book in his epic “Game of Thrones” saga. While George claimed that the imminent book was nearing completion, he has pushed back its release date several times already. Recently, Zack Thoutt, a software engineer, trained a recurrent neural network to help the 68-year-old writer finish the much-anticipated sixth book of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.
Fan creates AI to help GRRM
The Christian Today reported that the software engineer is an avid follower of the “Game of Thrones” TV series. In fact, he had been watching the popular HBO show while developing an artificial intelligence to address the demand for “The Winds of Winter” novel. The publication claimed that Zac Thoutt was able to produce the next chapter after feeding the first 5,376 pages of George’s former “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels.
However, some parts of the plot did not match the New Mexican writer’s style of writing. "One episode into season seven of 'Game of Thrones' (I'm a huge fan!), the idea hit me — why not train a network to write new chapters for the book we're all waiting for?" Zac explained on his blog. He added that his artificial intelligence only proved that anything is possible with deep learning.
Zac Thoutt furthered that coming up with these kinds of technologies could address the social problems that we face on a daily basis. “The possibilities of AI going forward are vast, and I'm excited to be on the cutting edge of the technology behind the AI movement,” he wrote.
More ‘TWOW’ theories
Meanwhile, Express reported that Zac Thoutt’s artificial intelligence revealed that Sansa Stark could be the daughter of King Robert.
It stated that Arya Stark’s sister is a Baratheon and the second child of the late ruler’s concubine. Additionally, it was stated that Jamie Lannister would kill his sister, Cersei Lannister.
“I guess that validates that anything can happen in Game of Thrones,” Zac wrote on his blog. “I didn't feed it anything from fan theory websites, only the books,” he went on. While these reports could be true, HBO has yet to confirm or deny these theories.
George RR Martin has yet to announce the official release date of the sixth "A Song of Ice and Fire" book. Stay tuned for more spoilers, news, and updates about the upcoming “The Winds of Winter” novel!
