Prince Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle's relationship enters the serious stage following reports that claim the "Suits" actress and Queen Elizabeth finally met. The big meeting apparently took place on September 3 upon the couple's return from their trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe.
Prince Harry wanted to visit his grandmother as he hasn't seen her all summer so, he took Meghan Markle with him to Balmoral Castle. The first meeting between the two important women in Prince Harry's life was apparently a success, according to sources.
"He was able to introduce someone he loves to someone he cares for deeply," the source told Us Weekly.
Engagement announcement soon?
Speculations are that the prince and his “Suits” actress-girlfriend might soon announce an engagement if they aren't already committed. Rumors stated that Prince Harry might have proposed to Megan Markle during their three-week vacation in the African country of Botswana.
Markle, who is a Southern California native, already met Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall a few months back. The “Suits” star confirmed via Vanity Fair that she and Prince Harry dated quietly for about six months after it became a big news.
"The only thing that changed was people’s perception," Meghan Markle told the magazine. "Nothing about me changed.
I’m still the same person that I am, and I’ve never defined myself by my relationship."
Second American royalty by marriage
But since confirming their relationship, Meghan Markle scaled down on her presence online. She stopped being so active on social media and also closed down her lifestyle blog The Tig for the sake of privacy.
If Markle's relationship with Prince Harry is indeed altar-bound, then actress will be the second American to become a part of the British royal family by marriage.
Wallis Simpson, an American divorcee, was the first. She married King Edward VIII, Queen Elizabeth's uncle, in the 1930s and he gave up the throne for his wife. His brother and Queen Elizabeth’s father, Prince George, then became king.
Sources also revealed via Express that Prince Harry wants a quiet wedding. It would be the opposite of his brother Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011 which was televised around the world.
Meanwhile, if Meghan Markle becomes an official part of the royal family, she might also give up her acting career altogether. The cast of “Suits” expects that she won’t be back on the show, should the series get another renewal from USA Network.
