Bruno Mars will be having a historic moment in his career as he is set to star in his first primetime television special performing his famous hits, Los Angeles Times reported. The production of his upcoming primetime Tv Special has started as well.

The male singer’s primetime special is titled “Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live At The Apollo,” he announced on Tuesday, September 12. The show is set to air on CBS from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.

According to Los Angeles Times, taping has started for the show which was done at the Apollo Theater in New York. The show starts with her performance on top of the iconic marquee of the theater.

Billboard also reported that his band “The Hooligans” are also going to be part of the show, featuring their street performances.

The shooting will continue in the next weeks, with never-before-seen footages to be shown as the program airs in November this year. Billboard said the TV special is described as “exciting and intimate.”

Greatest performer

Ben Winston, the co-executive producer of “Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live At The Apollo,” told Billboard that the male singer “is the greatest performer in the world.” He added that he is honored to be entrusted to produce the show along with Fulwell 73 Productions.

Meanwhile, CBS Entertainment’s executive vice president Jack Sussman told Los Angeles Times that Bruno Mars is “the ultimate live performer” in today’s generation.

He said that he defines event television, without forgetting to pay tribute to the rich tradition and history of the field. Sussman also said that the network is “proud to broadcast” his historic first TV special.

Sold-out show within minutes

In 2018, the male pop singer is slated to perform in Manila, Philippines, the local news agency Inquirer.net reported.

As of press time, tickets to the upcoming concert tour are already sold out prompting the local promoter MMI Live to turn his show into a two-night event instead of just a one-night affair.

Inquirer.net reported that the tickets for the May 3 concert sold out in just “less than an hour” since the selling began last week. The concert tour will feature songs from Mars’ latest album such as “24K Magic,” “Versace on the Floor” and “That’s What I Like.”

“24K Magic” has sold more than 1.4 million pieces worldwide, Billboard and Nielsen Music reported. More details about his upcoming TV special and world tours will be posted in the coming days.
