The Independent recently reported that “Pirates Of The Caribbean” star Johnny Depp visited infant and teenager patients in a children’s hospital in Vancouver, Canada. The actor was dressed as his iconic role in the movie, Captain Jack Sparrow.
Depp was dressed as the famous pirate in full outfit and kept his character as he greeted the children patients and their families in BC Children’s Hospital in Canada. According to The Independent, he stayed in the location for around five hours.
BC Children’s Hospital issued a statement, as reported. They are delighted by Depp’s visit as Captain Jack Sparrow.
They noted how the actor “has a heart of gold” by meeting each patient, whether newborn patients or teenage patients. He even played with some of the children in the venue.
He reportedly took the time to pose in photo opportunities, and communicate with the patients in the children’s hospital. The Independent stated that the hospital has treated around 85,000 children last year.
Johnny Depp’s advocacy
The report also pointed out that visiting hospitals around the world have been Depp’s advocacy. The actor reportedly visited children at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital last Christmas. It was a memorable place for him since his daughter was admitted to this place when she reportedly had kidney failure back in 2007.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor told The Independent how the children patients were brave enough to still bring out a smile, and said that as a father, this meant everything to him. He dropped by the Canada hospital in the middle of filming for his upcoming project.
