The Independent recently reported that “Pirates Of The Caribbean” star Johnny Depp visited infant and teenager patients in a children’s hospital in Vancouver, Canada. The actor was dressed as his iconic role in the movie, Captain Jack Sparrow.

Depp was dressed as the famous pirate in full outfit and kept his character as he greeted the children patients and their families in BC Children’s Hospital in Canada. According to The Independent, he stayed in the location for around five hours.

BC Children’s Hospital issued a statement, as reported. They are delighted by Depp’s visit as Captain Jack Sparrow.

They noted how the actor “has a heart of gold” by meeting each patient, whether newborn patients or teenage patients. He even played with some of the children in the venue.

He reportedly took the time to pose in photo opportunities, and communicate with the patients in the children’s hospital. The Independent stated that the hospital has treated around 85,000 children last year.

Johnny Depp’s advocacy

The report also pointed out that visiting hospitals around the world have been Depp’s advocacy. The actor reportedly visited children at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital last Christmas. It was a memorable place for him since his daughter was admitted to this place when she reportedly had kidney failure back in 2007.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor told The Independent how the children patients were brave enough to still bring out a smile, and said that as a father, this meant everything to him. He dropped by the Canada hospital in the middle of filming for his upcoming project.

‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’

The latest movie franchise for “Pirates” was just recently shown, since it opened in box-office in July.

Forbes reported the movie’s earnings when it was shown in theaters.

The fifth installment in the franchise, “dead men tell No Tales” reportedly earned a total of $605 million in its international screening. It earned more than the other movies shown in summer, such as “Beauty and the Beast” and “Fate of the Furious.”

“Dead Men Tell No Tales,” where Depp portrayed the lead role, reportedly earned $77 million during the Memorial Day Weekend and $170 million in domestic screening.

According to Forbes, it fell shorter than the previous editions of the Walt Disney film. Johnny Depp joins Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom in the renowned movie franchise that started in the early 2000s.
