Endless updates regarding “The Originals” Season 5 keep surfacing online every now and then. Now, a new report suggests that actor Candice King is going to reprise her role as Caroline Forbes in the upcoming season. For those who don’t know, Caroline Forbes is a character from “The Vampire Diaries.” Moreover, the upcoming season is reportedly going to premiere in 2018.

According to a report published by TVLine, Caroline Forbes (played by Candice King) is going to play an important role in “The Originals” season 5. Her character will be seen sharing a complicated screen time with Klaus Mikaelson (played by Joseph Morgan).
As can be recalled, the two characters share a rather tension-filled history. They were seen sharing romantic moments in the third and the fourth season of “The Originals.” According to another report published by Entertainment Weekly, “The Originals” Executive Producer Julie Plec recently took to the online medium to suggest that they might be planning a spinoff that will link the popular shows “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals.” He reportedly made a statement, saying that he thinks that there are future shows in the pipe line wherein the worlds from both the shows might intertwine. She feels like this is the only hope for the show to flourish in the future.
Cast and characters
Moreover, the finale episode of “The Originals” season 4 also indicated a possible link between the two shows.
The finale episode witnessed Klaus Michaelson’s daughter, Hayley Marshall-Kenner (played by Phoebe Tonkin) as attending a school led by Caroline Forbes from “The Vampire Diaries” (played by Candice King). Towards the end, “The Originals” season 4 ended with at a heartbreaking finish where the Mikaelson kids were seen being parted from each other.
Following which, it was shown that the only way one could save the Mikaelson siblings from the vicious sight of Hollow was to bring all of them together and utilize their respective powers as well. However, it was also discovered at the same time that Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Rebekah (Claire Holt), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) could never be in the same room together again, as it was doomed until the end of time.
“The Originals” season 5 will be seen focusing on Hope Mikaelson’s life for the rest of the episodes. It remains to be seen what exactly will take place next.
