Netflix’s “The Defenders” gets a little help from Stan Lee

Marvel fans have something new to look forward to. Anticipation escalates for Netflix’s upcoming superhero series “The Defenders.” The release of the show’s latest trailer brought excitement to a higher level with a little Stan Lee magic.

Fans were surprised when they saw an unexpected icon in the latest trailer of Netflix’s “The Defenders.” The celebrated comic creator Stan Lee decided to show his support for the upcoming film by his surprise appearance in the series trailer.

The 94-year-old comic book genius both narrated and starred in the teaser trailer. The film was led by Lee as he journeyed through the streets of New York on board a town car. Lee’s special role was to introduce the viewers to each Defender and reveal their thematic relevance to the story.

In his series trailer spill, Lee reminds the audience that Heroes are proof that perfection is not a requisite for somebody to do what is morally right and correct. The legend adds that becoming a hero is not synonymous to living without any hint of fear but instead, it is living while facing injustice. Lee says becoming a hero is not all about power and influence. Instead, it is being called into a noble work in the perfect time.

According to Lee, Heroes show us that tough person can also be vulnerable no matter how tough they are all because heroes are humans too.

Get to know the Defenders

As Stan Lee journeys through the dark and dangerous New York neighborhood, the audience was introduced to the new heroes. In the trailer, we witness “The Defender” composed of Jessica Jones Matt, Murdock/Daredevil, Luke Cage and Danny Rand/Iron Fist as they battle the thugs off the streets.

The characters shall be portrayed by Krysten Ritter, Charlie Cox, Mike Colter and Finn Jones, respectively.

Netflix has remained discreet as to the details of “The Defenders” story. The timeline and plot of the upcoming show are still left as a big mystery to fans. However, promotional videos have revealed some interesting pieces of information.

Fans got a glimpse of Elektra (Elodie Yung) who was radiating a vampiric aura after being resurrected from the death she suffered during the second season of “Daredevil.” Viewers were also able to spot the enchanting but evil Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver).
