Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus have been making headlines after their first public appearance in Los Angeles last Thursday night. Their relationship, however, was mired in controversy when several reports claimed that the two have been together even before they separated from their respective spouses.
Earlier reports accused the actor of having a secret affair with the "Saturday Night Live" producer even before he and his then-wife, Jennifer Garner, announced they were separating in 2015. Similarly, Shookus was still married to her co-producer Kevin Miller when she allegedly started seeing Affleck, who is a five-time host of the NBC program.

A source affiliated with the actress revealed to US Magazine that the mother of three is aware of Affleck's relationship with Shookus even before they stepped as a couple. It added that the actress is "okay" about the affair that she even agreed to spend the Independence Day holiday with the kids and their dad.
A few days after the news came out, Garner was spotted all smiles as she was leaving a fitness class in West Hollywood. The actress, however, refused to comment on her estranged husband's relationship with the "Saturday Night Live" producer.
It should be noted that Garner and Affleck just filed their petitions to divorce in April where they both cited "irreconcilable differences" as the grounds for ending their decade-long marriage.
The former couple, however, promised to co-parent Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel after announcing their separation.
Did Affleck cheat on Garner over Shookus?
Although several insiders told E! News that the actor and "Saturday Night Live" producer are still in the early stages of their relationship, new reports are suggesting that the affair has been going on even before Affleck's marriage with Garner fell apart.
According to PEOPLE, the "13 Going On 30" star reportedly had a confrontation with Shookus in 2015. Garner allegedly asked the "Saturday Night Live" producer about her fling with Affleck, but reportedly failed to stop the two from seeing each other.
Garner even had a conversation with Miller where she reportedly showed him a proof of Shookus and Affleck's text messages.
After the confrontation, the actress has decided to focus on herself and her three kids. Despite what happened in their marriage, the "Daredevil" duo have remained civil to carry out their parental responsibilities.
