In a recent interview with Vogue, actress Zendaya revealed that she had been in a serious Relationship for the past four years. This piece of news comes as a shock to Hollywood and the media who did not know or suspected anything about it.

The 20-year-old American actress and singer confessed to having a serious boyfriend from 2012 until 2016 when the couple broke up.

Getting over a bad breakup

Zendaya is known for being a very private person despite being in the public eye.

That being said, it came as a shock to some that she dated someone for the past few years without a hint of it anywhere. In her Vogue interview, she commented that this was "her first love" and that things didn't end well. The singer also shared that this unnamed boyfriend was the one that ended the relationship, but before parting ways he gave her Noon (her Schnauzer puppy) back in 2015.

When talking about how she knew she was over the breakup, Zendaya expressed, "You know you are okay in a breakup when your first thought is not, 'What did I do wrong?'. It's, 'That was the dumbest decision of your life, and you are going to regret it forever.'"

Before Zendaya came clean about her past relationship, there had been rumors making the rounds that the actress and her co-star, Tom Holland, were dating.

However, she confirmed that these comments held no truth to them. As she told Vogue, since things ended with her ex-boyfriend, she hasn't dated anyone else.

Zendaya and fame

Zendaya is set to star in the movie "Spiderman: Homecoming," which premieres next month, on July 7th. Her role has been one to create much speculation since, at first, it was thought that she was playing Mary Jane Watson.

However, it has been revealed that she's playing Peter Parker's classmate Michelle.

The celebrity rose to fame back in 2010 when she starred in the Disney Channel show "Shake It Up," where she played one of the protagonists, Rocky Blue.

In 2013, she released her first album, a record named after herself featuring songs that discussed heartbreak and love.

Her lead single "Replay" was one of the most popular songs of that year. Soon after her record came out, Zendaya set out for a tour in the United States, called the "Swag It Out Tour". In the same year, she published her first book, "Between U and Me: How to Rock Your Tween Years with Style and Confidence."

Zendaya is also a fashion designer and she created a collection of her own clothing in 2015 called "Daya by Zendaya."
