Suri Cruise celebrated her 11th birthday on April 18, 2017, with her mother Katie Holmes and a few cousins, but the most important person was not present for her special day. Yes, we are talking about none other than Tom Cruise.
Though she had what appeared to have an exciting day soaking up the sun and parasailing in Florida, Suri’s father was absent, and she missed him a lot. The actor was on the other side of the world, busy in the shooting of “Mission: Impossible 6” in France. Apparently, it’s not the first time when Tom Cruise has missed his daughter’s special day.
Hollywood Life reports that Katie marked Suri’s birthday on April 18, 2017, a few days after taking the fifth grader to Florida over Easter break for a vacation with her family.
The actor hasn’t seen his daughter
The 54-year-old actor has not seen his daughter, Suri Cruise, for over three years. In fact, when Holmes gave birth to Suri in 2006, Cruise was nothing more than a doting dad. Since Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise ended their five-year marriage back in 2012, the “Mission: Impossible” actor has been missing from his daughter’s life.
An insider reveals that Tom Cruise has not bothered to reach out to Suri on Father’s Day, and he has not seen her in person for 1,381 days. Tom was last clicked with Suri Cruise on September 15, 2013.
Katie told Hollywood Life that she would let her daughter see Tom if he wanted to see her, but Cruise did not make any move toward being a physical presence in Suri's life again.
A few weeks ago, Life & Style magazine revealed that Scientology members are asked to “disconnect” from family and friends who leave the church. That is why, Tom Cruise partied his ways from Katie and Suri, and his recent absence is a far cry from their past catch-ups.

In the meantime, Katie is trying to provide Suri with all comforts of life. There were cakes, festive décor, colorful balloons, a glittery sign, and lots of Instagram posts from mom on Suri Cruise’s birthday.
“It’s important that she enjoys her life,” Katie told Hollywood Life.
The actress feels blessed to have Suri in her life, and she wants to see her child succeed in the future.
Holmes and Cruise began dating each other in April 2005. They announced their engagement in June 2005, only seven weeks after their meeting. In June 2012, Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, stating that she feared intimidation by the Church of Scientology.
