The month of May has a lot of exciting shows and movies in store. HBO Now, Netflix, and Hulu are forefront with their original television series and mega-budget films. This month, at least three interesting films will premiere on HBO Now. These include “Jason Bourne,” “Sin City,” and “Scream 2.” Also, the month is offering premieres of “The Mummy,” and “Alien: Covenant.”

‘Jason Bourne’ – the film

“Jason Bourne” is a 2016 blockbuster directed and co-produced by Paul Greengrass and scripted by Christopher Rouse. It is the fifth film in the “Jason Bourne” series and a sequel to 2007 blockbuster, “The Bourne Ultimatum.” The film features Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Riz Ahmed, Scott Shepherd, Ato Essandoh, and Vincent Cassell.

The movie was released in London and the United States in July 2016, by Universal Pictures. It received mixed comments from critics and audiences, grossing over $410 million at the box office. The story is about a brave young man, Jason, who recovers from amnesia and finds himself on a remote island. “Jason Bourne” is the third top-grossing movie of 2016, following “The Mermaid,” and “Warcraft.”

‘Sin City’ – a Hollywood movie

“Sin City” is a crime film directed, written, and produced by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, based on a novel of the same name by Miller.

The film focuses on a young man who embarks on a brutal rampage in search of his girlfriend's murderer. The cast includes Bruce Willis, Brittany Murphy, Jessica Alba, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Benicio Toro, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Elijah Wood.

“Sin City” received positive comments from critics and audiences, with some of them praising its cinematography, and others admiring the star cast.

Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez made cameo appearances in the movie. On Rotten Tomatoes, its approved rating is 76% based on 243 critics. On Metacritic, “Sin City” has scored 67 out of 100 based on 410 reviews.

‘Scream 2.'

Released in 1997, “Scream 2” is an American thriller by Wes Craven. Kevin Williamson has written the story and dialogues, and its cast includes David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell, Sarah Michelle, Jamie Kennedy, Jerry Connell, Laurie Metcalf, Live Schreiber, and Jade Pinkett.

“Scream 2” was released by Dimension Films as the second film in the “Scream” series. Following its smashing success, two sequels, “Scream 3” and “Scream 4” were released in 2011. The movie opened in 2,402 theaters and earned $32 million in the opening weekend from the United States and Canada.

Janet Maslin from New York Times said that “Scream 2” was far better than the original film. Roger Ebert from The Verge stated that the movie had incredible visuals and great star cast.
