The relationship between an artist and a producer is a special one. In the making of great music, both need each other equally to create magic at its best. Streaming giant Spotify and hip-hop legend Russell Simmons are partnering up to give subscribers an inside look at the process of music-making with one artist and one producer who have never worked together, and allow them to work in a vacuum-like environment to see what magic occurs. The idea is simple, put a rapper and a producer in the back seat of an SUV during LA traffic and see what they come up with before they make their way to the Spotify-All Def Stage, where hundreds of fans will be waiting to hear them perform that song live.

Welcome to “Traffic Jams”.

Starting today April 4th, and every following Tuesday for eight weeks “Traffic Jams” will be blessing people with a different combination of rapper and producer. Comedian, DoBoy, aka Fat Drake, drives the SUV but also stirs the conversation, and gets into the lives of the subjects as well as gives his opinions on the tracks made during the drive.

The concept for 'Traffic Jams' is one of a kind

Spotify is increasingly growing their content from Hip Hop Caviar and now with 'Traffic Jams,' ‘Traffic Jams’ has improvisation, it has performances, and I’m pretty sure it will spawn a few new hits too.” – Russell Simmons, co-founder of All Def Digital.

Traffic Jams” allows you to see inside the mind of your favorite rapper and the creative process.

It's not quite like a studio session but its very close. The first episode starts off with the God Father of modern day auto-tune T-Pain, collaborating with Atlanta producer Southside. The episode is not only insightful but equally funny. Each episode is about 15 minutes long and the songs created are done on the spot and will be available on Spotify.

Spotify’s 'Traffic Jams' will include some of your favorite artists
