IM Global has started the marketing and promotion of “King Kong Skull Island.” It will premiere in the second or third week of August. The live-action series is penned by Jonathan Penner and Stacy Title who previously wrote the script for “The Bye Bye Man.” It is an adaptation of a novel by Merian Cooper. A movie of the same name was released on March 17, 2017, by Jordan Vogt-Roberts.

According to The Verge, “King Kong Skull Island” is the timeless story of a large-sized animal. The series has a female lead and multicultural ensemble. IM Global president Mark Stern says that the company has joined hands with MarVista Entertainment to adapt “Skull Island.” It is a contemporary continuation of the classic franchise.

Audiences will explore the horrors and wonders of Skull Island and its origin.

Previously, Jonathan and Stacy received two Oscars for the script of “The Bye Bye Man.” The two are forefronts to pen the dialogues of the forthcoming TV series. Dannie Festa of World Builder Entertainment is serving as an executive producer.

‘Kong: Skull Island’

King Kong Skull Island” marks the first television series in the franchise. The feature film of the same name was released last month by Warner Bros. It grossed more than $550 million worldwide against the $180 million budget. The American movie is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and written by Derek Connolly. The cast includes Tom Hiddleston, John Goodman, Jing Tian, Samuel L.

Jackson, Shea Whigham, John Ortiz, and Brie Larson.

A little about the forthcoming TV series

The show follows a team of scientists and several soldiers who travel to a remote island in the Pacific. They encounter strange creatures and the mighty Kong. Marlow is heading the group of soldiers. He tries to defeat the enemies, but the terrifying creatures have extraordinary powers.

So, Marlow decides to attack their group in one shot. Many of his soldiers have been killed due to the gas explosion.

Most of the scenes have been shot in Hawaii and Vietnam. “Kong: Skull Island” will premiere on August 28, in London and the US. The project director states that he wanted Kong to look iconic and straightforward.

The current appearance of Kong was selected from over 40 exaggerated features, some of them had cartoonish and iconic qualities.

The drama marks the latest project to come out of independent studio IM Global, a joint venture between Tang Media Partners and Tencent.
