Warner Bros., Disney, and Marvel announce some big projects this year. It seems that the studios have planned to take Hollywood to the cinematic universe level. Superhero and non-superhero projects that boast original concepts are expected to hit the theaters. From fairy tales like "Snow White" to classics such as "The Lion King," 2017 will bring dozens of works. Let us check out the list of most anticipated Live Action remakes.

‘Mulan’

Disney is famous for its live-action remakes, and at least 20 stories are in the works. The Emma Watson-led “Beauty and the Beast” hit cinemas overseas, and now it’s time to look for “Mulan.” Disney’s previous remakes “Cinderella” and “The Jungle Book” did excellent business, so we have high expectations with “Mulan.” Thousands of fans turn to the social media profile of director Niki Caro who often shares photos from the sets of the film to create excitement.

He recently announced that a new actor replaces Mulan’s love interest, Li-Shiang. The movie is expected to release in November 2017.

‘The Lion King’

The Lion King” is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Disney continues to mine its animation library for live-action reboots, and “The Lion King” is a big example of that. After “Beauty and the Beast,” the studio announces record-breaking classic remakes. James Earl Jones will reprise his role alongside newcomer Donald Glover in “The Lion King.” Post-production of the film will begin in May 2017, and it is expected to hit the theaters by the end of the year.

‘Dumbo’

These days, Danny DeVito is in talks as he plays the ringmaster in Tim Burton’s live-action adaptation of “Dumbo.” Disney confirms that “Dumbo” will be released both in French and English versions.

The studio is looking to fill the role of the father of Will Smith and Chris Pine. Its “Maleficent,” “Cinderella,” and “The Jungle Book” did excellent business, so we have high expectations with “Dumbo.” Eva Green and Danny DeVito are in the lead roles. “Dumbo” marks another collaboration of Disney with Danny DeVito. The studio does not confirm if Will Smith plays a leading role in this film or a supporting character.
