The one thing Donald Trump has accomplished since entering the White House is uniting celebrities and entertainers in disdain for the man and his policies. Everyone from Meryl Streep to the entire cast of Saturday Night Live has lobbed shots at Trump and his administration, and now a rock icon intends to bring even more attention to the policies of President Trump. pink floyd rocker Roger Waters has made no secret of his contempt for Trump, and now, Waters plans to perform “The Wall” somewhere along the US-Mexico border to protest Trump’s plan to build one there.

Waters vs. Trump

Last October, the Pink Floyd co-founder at a concert in Mexico City made his distaste of Trump public by projecting an homage of Trump photographs on big screens with the words “Charade” and “Joker” emblazoned across them while performing “Pigs”. Waters also had unkind words for Trump while performing at the Desert Trip music festival in Indio, California later in October, and performed “Another Brick in the Wall Part 2” with a stage full of children wearing anti-border wall slogans. When asked about performing “The Wall” on the U.S.-Mexico border at an appearance in London to promote an art exhibition to commemorate Pink Floyd’s fifty year anniversary , Waters told reporters “before this can happen, there will first need to be an awakening against these far-right policies.” He also added, “The sewers are engorged by greedy and powerful men as I speak to you.”

'The Wall'

Pink Floyd released “The Wall” in 1979, and along with “Darkside of the Moon” it is considered one the group’s best efforts.

The double album was Pink Floyd’s eleventh studio album and explored issues such as abandonment, isolation, and fascism. During the 1980’s, “The Wall” was adapted into both a live action and animation movie.

The group has performed the album before to make a political statement on other occasions such as back in 1990 in Berlin to celebrate the collapse of the Berlin Wall. Neither Pink Floyd or Waters have confirmed any details or concert dates along the border, and as for now President Trump has not laid out any detailed plans for the proposed border wall either.
