Aesop once stated that "no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." In today's world, there is an abundance of hatred and a lack of kindness. I personally have found that kindness can Change The World, both on an individual and larger scale. I believe that we can impact one another in a profound way and can do so by being ourselves and choosing to be kind.

Kindness has the power to change lives

As a self-proclaimed optimist, I choose to look on the bright side of life and wake up each day with a grateful heart. I know that I cannot change the world, but can do my part to change somebody's day and perhaps even world.

I believe that being kind to others is one of the greatest superpowers of all. Saying hi to a stranger, holding the door for an expectant mother or becoming friends with a new kid in class are some ways in which you can impact someone's day and life for the better.

You have the Power To Change someone's day and that doesn't mean swooping down and rescuing them. No, it means doing your part to help someone out in whichever way you are able to do so. They may not say thank you, but that's okay.

Kindness for the sake of kindness

I think we spend too much time focusing on what we will gain from being kind to someone. You don't need a gold star each time you do something nice or go out of your way to help another human being.

I think it's time we take a step back and do good deeds and make other people happy for no other reason than to make other people feel happy, loved and accepted.

I think that kindness is a gift that should be treasured and shared with those around us. I feel strongly that "to give much is to receive much." I think there is a lot to gain from being kind, and I'm not talking about receiving gifts in return for completing a task, or a certificate for doing community service.

I'm talking about the feeling you get when you do something kind for someone else. Giving, in my opinion, is much more important and rewarding than receiving. I love knowing that my actions are helping to make someone's life a little bit brighter, even if only for a moment.

Be kind, make other people smile and celebrate strengths instead of pinpointing weaknesses.

Together we can lift one another up and can embrace loved ones as well as strangers. You never know. You may, in fact, change someone's life for the better and you can do that simply by being yourself and by being kind. The world needs more kindness and I urge you to write a letter to a loved one, donate to an organization that means something to you, pay it forward, and just be...kind.
