Who is Annalise?
The main character Annalise Keating (played by Viola Davis) is one of the best criminal lawyers in town. As an established law professor at the fictional Middleton University in Philadelphia, Annalise runs her own clinic at her house.
Her Oscar-winning role as Annalise Keating is unapologetic, she is demanding and powerful -- not only is her role brilliant but, as a lawyer, she is capable of making anyone nervous.
During the first season, we see what an exceptional actress Viola Davis is, as we witness her intense interrogation style and wit. Imagine intense drama scene, full of suspense and not knowing who’s going to win. During her first court case, we see her personality, we are given a glimpse inside her work style. We can tell she loves to win and will do anything to make that happen. She has a reputable character as a woman and a lawyer and will go the extra mile for her clients.

To help with her cases, every year Annalise picks 5 of the best student to work with her at her law firm, dubbed “The Keating Five”.These ambitious students get the opportunity to work on real-life cases with her thus earning them a reputation as the chosen ones.
Her top picks were Michaela Pratt played by Aja Naomi King, Laurel Castillo ( Karla Souza,) Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee), Asher Millstone (Matt McGorry) and Wes Gibbons played by Alfred Enoch. They are the ones doing most of the dirty work, helping to make sure that Annalise wins all her cases.
But don’t get this twisted, Annalise is as much involved, we see as the series unfolds as she covers up crimes committed by her students whilst staying on top in the professional scene.
