President Donald Trump’s sense of humor is sometimes questionable, to put the matter mildly. Recently the president tweeted a Gif in when he hits a Golf Ball and then cuts to the projectile hitting Hillary Clinton in the back as she boards a plane. The video is not particularly amusing unless one thinks that the twice-failed presidential candidate getting hit in the back by a golf ball is funny.

One suspects that a large number of people, including those who have been wronged by the former first lady, senator, and secretary of state, are vastly amused. However, the reaction on social media is over the top hilarious.

POTUS is joking about violence against women!

Keith Olbermann, formerly of MSNB, tweeted, “What's your plan, little boy? Hit Kim Jong-Un in the back of the head with a golf ball?” The answer, if POTUS were to deign to notice the failed journalist, would be, “Not with a golf ball.”

George Takei, former “Star Trek” actor, gay activist, and social media rantmeister, tweeted, “Trump RTed a GIF of his golf ball hitting Hillary in the back.

Hillary said she'd wait to respond, RTing when Karma kicks Trump in the a-.”

Several tweeters, such as David Gergen and David Frum, brought up Kathy Griffin, who famously dangled what appeared to be the severed head of the president at a photo shoot. The theory was the if one was angry about Griffin fantasizing about decapitating the president of the United States ISIS style one has to be equally upset at Trump imagining himself hitting Hillary Clinton in the back with a golf ball bad golfer style.

Why Trump doesn’t care about the dignity of the office of the presidency

People have pointed out since before Donald Trump was elected that he tends to be rude, crude, and socially unacceptable. The tendency has only slightly moderated now that he has taken the oath of office, primarily because digging the country out of the pit Obama put it in has been a full-time job, leaving little time for trolling.

However, POTUS still likes his little hobbies, among which is trolling his enemies. Tweeting things like the golf ball gif is certain to cause over the top and even Laugh Out Loud funny reactions as surely as day follows sunrise. If the anti-Trumpers were smart, and some of them are, they would just give a collective shrug, give a pained expression, and maybe say something like, “Well, that’s Donald for you. What do you expect?” Instead, they react as if Trump had really hit Hillary Clinton with a golf ball and then gone at her with a nine iron. The gif was cringe-worthy, but the reaction to it is serving Trump’s purpose by making his enemies look ridiculous. After all, it’s not as if he was a bad-tempered celebrity chef who offered to feed the president Hemlock.
